Weir Cottage Bed & Breakfast (B & B) is a 250 year old waterside house overlooking the River Tamar, Plymouth & Dartmoor. Behind the house is a wooded hillside which is part of Mount Edgcumbe House & Gardens.
The guest accommodation is all on the ground floor, with rooms overlooking the river. There is a double/twin bedroom, private bathroom and separate sitting/breakfast room. Gourmet home cooked evening meals are available by arrangement and local organic produce is used wherever possible for the delicious breakfasts.
There are good facilities for walkers: Weir Cottage Bed & Breakfast is the nearest B&B to Cremyll, where the Cornish section of the South West Coast Path ends. Muddy boots & wet clothes are not a problem, and there is long term parking on the road outside the house. A pick up/drop off from the path is possible if you need it. If you don’t fancy our dinner menu, there are several good pubs a mile away in Millbrook.
Weir Cottage Bed & Breakfast (B & B) makes a good holiday base for garden lovers. The entrance to Mt Edgcumbe Gardens is just up the lane; apart from its National Camellia Collection, it is the only Grade 1 listed garden in Cornwall. The gardens at Antony House, Torpoint, are also nearby. B&B owner Binna Graham is a keen gardener who is happy to advise on all the local horticultural heavens!
If you surf or dive, you may have heard of Whitsand Bay, a two mile long sandy beach which is ten minutes away, past the lovely old fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. If you are attending a wedding or party at Polhawn Fort, it is tucked into the corner of Whitsand Bay.
Weir Cottage Bed & Breakfast (B & B) is set in a beautiful, peaceful location in the heart of the Rame peninsula – known as SE Cornwall’s “forgotten corner” because of its tranquillity and lack of commercialised tourism.
